We’re excited to kick off May celebrating National Travel & Tourism Week (May 7-13).
We love working with our tourism clients and helping them spread the word about all the wonderful things to do in their communities. We’ve launched some exciting new websites and products that we can’t wait to share with you!
”[Neapolitan Labs] learned what our mission was, our goals, and who our audience is, and they made a website that is easy to navigate, tells our story, and shows the best of Pella. They also made many enhancements that were Dutch/Pella-focused, which helps us stand out when people are looking for a place to visit.

A New Modern Site for Visit Pella
We just launched a new website for Visit Pella that focuses on visuals, depth, and search capabilities. The homepage now features video enticing visitors with scenes from around the community before inviting users to explore dining options, shops, lodging, and things to do.
From there, visitors can view the area’s offerings via an interactive map, discover upcoming events, and browse a colorful social media collage (often populated with images of their famous tulips).
A new Dutch Culture page highlights Pella’s rich history with an interactive timeline and a curated list of Dutch attractions, restaurants, and lodging options. Dutch options are also labeled on their Eat & Drink and Things to Do pages, along with local restaurants and free recreation options.
We are so proud of how the site turned out and can’t wait to see it grow over the years!
”We wanted to create a user-friendly website that was still eye-catching and engaging while keeping Visit Pella’s mission ... Another goal was to eliminate some pain points from a website editing standpoint for our staff. Neapolitan Labs was able to meet our expectations and more.

Trails, Maps, and Planners
We’ve launched some exciting new features for our tourism clients in recent years, including a Recreational Trails feature for the Pottawattamie Countywide Tourism Committee, interactive maps for Visit Pella and Red Rock Area, and a Trip Planner for the Council Bluffs Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Recreational Trails provides a clean way to list and map Pottawattamie County’s trails. Visitors can filter trails by activity, surface, and free entry. The trail listings include a featured image, length, description, parking information, and a map of the trail itself.
”Pottawattamie County is home to some amazing trails, and we are so excited about the new interactive module on WattaWayIA.com. It provides visitors with everything they need to know before heading out!

Our interactive maps for Visit Pella and Red Rock Area each map out all of the site’s listings (including restaurants, attractions, hotels, and more). Clicking on any of the map locations will give you information about the listing and direct you to its listing page for further details. The Red Rock Area interactive map takes this concept a step further. As an add-on, they’ve added the ability to filter the map by listing categories and towns. You can also save your filtered search to come back to it at a later date.
One of our favorite new products is our Trip Planner tool, created for the Council Bluffs Convention & Visitors Bureau. Site visitors can now save listings, blog posts, and events to a curated list to help them plan their next visit to the area. The list can then be shared via email to yourself and/or friends and family.
”The Trip Planner tool has been a game-changer for our online audience! Users are given all the necessary tools to create a custom trip in a simple, shareable format.
