One of our favorite products is an intranet we built for Pottawattamie County.

Their employee-only portal is a full intranet that employees can log into to access. It’s integrated into their overall county website powered by the same content management system, Mint Chip Lab.

Example of Pottawattamie County's intranet homepage on desktop and mobile.

At Pottawattamie County, our original goal with the Intranet was to create a space where county employees could get and share information. Neapolitan Labs has helped us realize that goal.

Intranet Features

  • Internal announcements
  • Employee-specific resources, including accounts payable, payroll, and benefits
  • Employee milestones, including birthdays and anniversaries
  • IT tickets
  • Building and Grounds work orders
  • Employee award recognition
  • Meeting room reservations

It’s a useful and helpful place, but also includes fun and lighthearted content as well.

Staff members keep the portal up to date through Mint Chip Lab modules, the same way they update information on the front end of the website. And, just like their county website, the portal is designed for both mobile and desktop use.

My favorite success is that the Intranet has nearly eliminated “all employee” emails from being sent. I am excited about what we have accomplished and what else we have planned in the future with our intranet!
