In 2021, we had the pleasure of working with a new client, County Social Services, on both a logo and website redesign.
County Social Services, part of Iowa’s Mental Health & Disability (MHDS) Regions, hired us to create a modern and accessible site that would make it effortless for residents in their region to find community resources. We worked closely with their team to develop a site and logo that welcomes users and inspires hope. After reviewing their needs for a new website and what their logo should represent, we got to work building out the site functionality they needed and creating brand elements that expressed a welcoming and peaceful presence.
”Neapolitan Labs has been wonderful to work with. They listened to us and created a website that exceeds our expectations.

The new website, powered by our proprietary Mint Chip Lab platform, features an interactive county resources map, a searchable and filterable Community Mental Health Centers directory, a robust list of staff contacts, and an email notification system for when a new governing board meeting agenda is added to the site. Mint Chip Lab’s module system makes it simple for County Social Services staff members to make updates and edits.
The site is designed with users in mind, making emergency resources immediately available. An alert bar at the top of the website shares crisis numbers and remains with users as they browse different pages of the site. Below that in the navigation, a button highlights the Community Mental Health Centers directory while the main focus on the homepage is an interactive county resources map.
Partnering With Other MHDS Regions
In addition to our work with County Social Services, we’ve had the pleasure of working with two other MHDS region websites: Southwest Iowa Region MHDS (SWIA MHDS) and Rolling Hills Community Services Region. We’ve also developed a Resource Connection directory for Sioux River MHDS.
Our Resource Connection feature, also utilized on the SWIA MHDS and Rolling Hills websites, is a robust list of community resources available in an MHDS region. Website users can browse the directory by using a search tool or filtering by county or category.
Each MHDS region’s site is built to meet its unique needs. For example, the Rolling Hills website includes a feature similar to the County Social Services’ Community Health Centers page that provides users with a directory of the region’s access points, and SWIA MHDS has an add-on for their website that gives users the ability to register for region events.
